X-ray technology uses electromagnetic radiation to produce the images. Health professionals use it mainly to observe and diagnose any situation in the bones, lungs, abdomen and cranial area among others. One of its best-known uses is the mammography exam, which is done using x-rays to detect the possible presence of tumors or suspicious areas in the breasts.
Images of body parts are recorded on a film or plate called an x-ray. These appear light or dark due to the different rates of speed at which the tissues absorb the x-rays. The calcium in the bones absorbs the x-rays to the maximum, so that the bones appear white on the x-ray. Fat and other soft tissues absorb less and look gray. The air absorbs much less, so the lungs look black.
In Salud Integral de la Montaña we have certified equipment and personnel to offer you this service.
